programme
Ammodo Architecture promotes and supports socially and ecologically responsible architecture worldwide. Expanding knowledge and generating new perspectives in architecture contribute to addressing contemporary challenges and driving society forward.
We present awards to projects and their makers in three categories, each including financial support for new work and initiatives. In addition, we make these projects visible, share knowledge and build a network. The programme comprises two interconnected initiatives: the Ammodo Architecture Award and an international knowledge platform. Together, they foster exchange and recognition across the field.
awards
The Ammodo Architecture Award is presented in three categories: Local Scale, Social Engagement, and Social Architecture. The award celebrates architects, landscape architects, urban planners, artists, communities, collectives, and multidisciplinary design teams whose work demonstrates excellence in addressing social and ecological challenges.
The scope of the award ranges from locally driven projects, collaborations, and initiatives to internationally renowned projects and completed buildings. In its assessment, the Advisory Committee considers not only the submitted project, but also the practice behind it.
In addition to receiving international recognition, award recipients are granted financial support to develop new initiatives. Applicants are therefore required to submit a proposal outlining how they would use the prize money, which the Advisory Committee also takes into account in its assessment.
knowledge platform
The international knowledge platform is a place, online or physical, where relevant knowledge about the winning projects and their makers is gathered, shared, and discussed, alongside the themes and directions identified by the Advisory Committee. It takes shape through a publication, a travelling exhibition, the Ammodo Architecture Days, and the Ammodo Architecture website.
ammodo architecture days
Ammodo Architecture Days is a recurring event that brings together practitioners to share knowledge, experiences, ideas, and emerging challenges through a ceremony and a symposium. By creating space for dialogue across disciplines and contexts, it serves as a leading platform for exploring new directions in social and ecological architecture.

publication
A publication accompanying the Ammodo Architecture Days, published by Hatje Cantz, features essays by leading contributors alongside analysis of the awarded projects. The publication reflects on the themes emerging from the Ammodo Architecture Award recipients from 2024 and 2025 and examines how architecture can respond to contemporary social and ecological challenges.
exhibition
A curated exhibition designed by Thonik, Studio LMNOP and Fiction Factory presents the work of Ammodo Architecture Award recipients from 2024 and 2025, offering visitors an in depth introduction to projects that redefine socially and ecologically responsible architectural practice across the world. The exhibition will subsequently travel internationally and will open to public, with further locations to be announced.
